Meet our celebrity: Clara Chinwe Okoro

Clara Chinwe Okoro is the Founder and Chief Operating Officer of MY BEAUTIFUL AFRICA, a Travel Tech Company, and the Executive Producer at Brandworld Media. She is an accomplished TV Host, International Resource Speaker, Multiple Award Winner, and Entrepreneur.

Clara holds a BA in Education from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She founded the first-ever brand-focused TV show in Nigeria, known as BRANDWORLD, a program she created to advocate for the importance of branding in Africa, recognizing that brands are the new wealth creators in any modern economy.

She is a regular participant in major creative content events globally, such as the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival, Festival of Media Montreux in Switzerland, Samsung Africa Week in Cape Town, and New York Fashion Week. BRANDWORLD became a platform where brands could tell their stories beyond traditional 60-second commercials.

A driven entrepreneur and a multiple award winner in various categories, Clara turned down an opportunity to work with Gulf Oil (now Chevron) after graduation to pursue her vision of harnessing creative intelligence as a powerhouse for economic advancement. She has since become a media innovator.

In her current role at My Beautiful Africa, Clara is focused on designing travel experiences across Africa, leveraging technology to promote digital transformation in the travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors. She is passionate about how this transformation can lead to a more competitive tourism industry in Africa. Her speaking engagements are renowned for being both engaging and informative, offering valuable insights into the intersection of technology and tourism.

Clara also serves as the Chairman of the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN) and is the Sub-Group Team Lead for the Infosystems/Data/Statistics Sub-Group of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) Tourism and Hospitality Industries Thematic Group. Additionally, she is the Director of Media and Communications for Women in Hospitality in Nigeria (WIHN).

She is a member of various professional organizations, including:

  • BJAN (Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria)
  • WITIN (Women in Technology in Nigeria)
  • FEMTECHCONF (Females in Tech Conference Group)
  • WIHN (Women in Hospitality in Nigeria)
