The Lagos State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, yesterday, Tuesday, 13th August 2024, received the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos State Command, Corps Commander Patrick Davou, along with some members of his management team, at his office in Alausa, Ikeja.
During the meeting, the Lagos State Commandant reaffirmed the Corps' strong partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state. He also assured that the NSCDC will continue to provide robust operational support to the FRSC, particularly in boosting morale and offering backup during critical assignments. The Commandant expressed confidence that these collaborative efforts will significantly reduce avoidable road accidents, enhance safety, and lower the mortality rate on our roads, which are often caused by reckless speeding leading to fatal crashes.
In his remarks, the Sector Commander of the FRSC, Corps Commander Patrick Davou, emphasized that speeding remains a leading cause of road accidents, resulting in tragic and often horrific outcomes. He urged motorists to exercise caution at all times to prevent such incidents.
The Lagos Sector Commander also took the opportunity to express his appreciation to the NSCDC for its longstanding cooperation with the FRSC in the state. He further requested continued collaboration to address other forms of illegal activities involving the misuse of vehicles on our roads.
