LAGOS NSCDC PASSES OUT 2022 NEW INTAKES, COMMEMORATES WORLD CIVIL DEFENCE DAY

The Zonal Commander, Zone A, Lagos charges graduands to be disciplined, committed and adherent to the code of conduct, the standard operating procedures and other laws guiding the service.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command yesterday, Friday, 1st March 2024, passed out fourty (40) 2022 intakes, who have just completed their basic and weapon handling training.

The Passing Out Parade ( POP ) held today, at the State Command Headquarters, Alausa - Ikeja was reviewed by Assistant Commandant General Olasupo Solomon, PhD, FCIA, Zonal Commander, Zone A, Lagos, ably represented by Commandant of Corps Esther Modupe Onilede, Officer in charge of Laison Command.

In the same vein, the Command also commemorated the World Civil Defence Day, which is often globally celebrated on 1st March of every year.

The Zonal Commander, Zone A, Lagos charged graduands to be disciplined, committed and adherent to the code of conduct, the standard operating procedures and other extant laws guiding the service.

The State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command in his speech, disclosed this year's theme, "Honour Heroes and Promote Safety Skills," which underscores the dual focus on recognizing the bravery of Civil Defence Operatives and the significance of equipping individuals and communities with essential safety skills.

Therefore, the Lagos State Commandant seized this opportunity to also call on the good citizens of the State to strengthen their support to the Corps as well as heighten stakeholders' engagements at all levels for better security and safety service delivery in the State.

The event was witnessed by representatives of other security services such as Nigeria Immigration Service, the Nigeria Correctional Service and representatives of Galaxy Backbone.
